Just about everything updated (including the site)

September 22, 2009 by · 90 Comments

Alright, just about every package in the repo was just updated.  Some significantly, others not so much, but the ones people are likely to care about are there.  MySQL is now up to 5.0.84, PHP is up to 5.2.11, and httpd is up to 2.2.13.

In addition to the package updates, I also included php-memcache for connecting to a memcached server and a choice of PHP accelerators as these were both things that many people were requesting.  You can now choose between php-xcache, php-apc, and php-eaccelerator (all of which conflict so don't try and force more than one to install).  I've not extensively tested the latter two as I personally use xcache, so someone will have to let me know if I should change something.

Lastly, the site itself has been updated to the newest release of WordPress, I've ripped out a bunch of plugins, added a few new ones, and I've installed a new skin.  I'll be tweaking everything as time goes on so things may be moving about and features may break from time to time.  If you notice anything flaky then please use the comment form on the About page.

Subversion packages in repo upgraded to 1.4.3

April 23, 2007 by · 10 Comments

After taking a long weekend to enjoy my new FIOS TV service (by the way, if you haven't seen FIOS TV then you haven't actually watched TV, this is crystal clear), I decided to build Subversion 1.4.3 packages for my repo. These, as with the last batch, are based on DAG's spec file but have been compiled against newer versions of apr & httpd.

Questions and comments, leave them below. Otherwise, enjoy.

New Repository Addition: Subversion

There have been a few requests in the post comments and via email for a version of Subversion that works with my updated version of httpd. Well, after ripping my hair out for the past couple days trying to get around a few blocking issues, I finally built Subversion packages for 32- & 64-bit systems.

First, unlike my httpd, PHP, and MySQL builds, I wanted to stick with the version of Subversion that came with RHEL & CentOS 4. I really didn't see the point of upgrading to a newer, less tested, version on this particular package. That said, the version of Subversion that comes with EL4 didn't particularly like the version of apr that is included in my repo. That meant that a straight rebuild of the src.rpm wasn't possible (it was failing the apr-related tests during the build).
