Announcing the Utter Ramblings EL5 Repository

It's been a long time coming (I believe the first time I mentioned creating packages for Enterprise Linux 5 was back in April), but yes, that's right, the packages from my EL4 repository have finally been recompiled for use under RHEL and CentOS 5!

As with the EL4 packages, everything has been tagged with my name ("jason"), as well as a build id, so that the RPMs can easily be identified as having come from my repository. All of the files are also signed with my GPG key so you can rest assured that you are receiving the exact same packages that are used on all of the sites that I manage and that none have been tampered with since they were originally uploaded.

That all said, there are a few notable changes between the packages I've made available for EL4 and those I've created for EL5.

• The subversion packages available for the two operating systems are NOT the same. The EL4 binaries mimic the stock EL4 packages and the EL5 binaries mimic the stock EL5 binaries (which provides access via Ruby and Java, as well as Perl). Both, however, have been upgraded to 1.4.4 (from 1.1.4 and 1.4.3 respectively).
• If you plan to use a few of the more eclectic PHP packages under EL5 then you will need to make sure that you have the "extras" repository enabled (it's enabled by default so unless you turned it off this shouldn't be an issue). This isn't required under EL4 because the packages needed are not available from the EL4 "extras" repo so I have rebuilt them and included them in mine.
• The mysqlclient10, mysqlclient14, and perl-DBD-MySQL packages have been removed because they are no longer needed (the first two are only required if you have software compiled for older MySQL libraries and the third is sufficient in the 'base' repo).
